FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I Visit a Showroom Without an Appointment?
Yes, you can visit one of our five West Michigan locations without booking an appointment.
However, we strongly encourage you to book an appointment because it ensures you meet with the proper designer/ salesperson in the showroom and allows you to get tailored recommendations from our expert design staff, who can help you choose brands, products, and styles that are right for your project. Without an appointment, a designer may not be available to meet with you.
If you are working directly with a builder or contractor, check to see if you should meet with their recommended Williams Kitchen & Bath designer before making an appointment or visiting the showroom.
Do You Provide Design Advice?
Yes! When you work with us on your bath or kitchen project, our design experts will provide insights and input to bring you the beautiful space you deserve and meet your specific needs and budget.
Does Williams Provide Installation Services?
No, Williams does not provide installation services directly. However, we do work with reputable contractors and builders through our professional trades program. We’ll be happy to work with your contractor/builder or provide a list of contractors to hire directly.
How Do I Create a Budget for My Project?
When you visit with your Williams designer, we can provide assistance in helping to establish a realistic and practical budget for your project based on your needs and expectations. A number of critical factors should be considered, and we can help walk through the issues.
The total project expense can vary depending on a number of factors, such as:
- Type and extent of remodel (minor renovation or major tear-out)
- Architectural changes (move/remove walls, doors, window, electrical, plumbing)
- Size of room (square footage)
- Personal preferences and product selection (upgrades, options, etc.)
- Who’s doing the work? (DIY, professional contractor)
- Type of property (residence, rental, flip)
- Plan to live in home (length of time)
- Value of home (market value)
- Expected ROI (return-on-investment, payback)
A kitchen or bath remodel can be intimidating, and not all remodeling projects are the same or require the same itemized expenses. If you are building a new home, we can work with both you and your builder to get you the kitchen and bath of your dreams and meet your budget requirements. When you meet with our designer, they will help you consider the specific needs of your project.
Do You Have a Specific Cabinet or Vanity Size?
Chances are, we have the kitchen or bath product in the size you’re looking for. But if we don’t have it in stock, we’ll be happy to make a special order, so you can get exactly what you need for your project.
How Long Are Lead Times for Your Products?
This largely depends on the type of product you’re looking for and what the manufacturer’s current timeline looks like. Many of our products are in stock and ready for immediate delivery. In other cases, we may need to place a special order for the specific product that you may need, and the delivery can vary.
For example, cabinets can take anywhere from 5–11 weeks. However, some plumbing and bath products typically take 2–3 weeks.
What Is the Timeline for Completing My Project?
In short, it depends.
Your designer will ask a few critical questions related to your timeline, such as, “When you want to start the project?” and “When do you hope to have the project completed?” This may determine some of the decisions you make on the project.
The timeline for your project can depend on whether we have the products you want in stock, or if you need a special order product or semi-custom size. Some products or brands may take longer depending on whether there is a backlog or if the product itself is on backorder. Once you have the kitchen or bath products you need, the turnaround for the project depends on your contractor or installer’s schedule.
What Should I Expect During the Installation Process?
While the specifics depend on the type of project, you may find yourself unable to use your kitchen or various parts of your bathroom while your contractor is working.
Generally speaking, contractors will only put certain parts of your living area out of commission temporarily—especially if they’re working on the only bathroom in your home, for example. However, you may find yourself grilling or using a hotplate to cook if you’re fully replacing your kitchen cabinets, for example.
Do You Offer Warranties?
As an authorized distributor for the product lines we offer, Williams Kitchen & Bath honors the warranty policies of each brand we carry. Please check directly with the manufacturer for specific warranty information.
